Fabric provides versatility for creating unique textures and subject matter in my art quilts. I love adding layers of design, such as color, texture, and depth. Quilting provides movement, paint unifies the whole piece, and embellishments add highlights. I especially enjoy adding details in the design for the viewer to discover when they look more closely at the quilt.

Using mixed media provides freedom of expression in my artwork. For painted wholecloth quilts, I quilt for maximum texture, complimenting the painted image. I love creating three-dimensional quilted collages by integrating a variety of textiles and embellishments. Some of my quilts are composed of innovative piecing, which brings me back to the roots of traditional quilt making. My work is eclectic because I enjoy using all the artistic disciplines.

The design process of each quilt includes achieving artistic composition and a sense of balance. It is my desire to transform the quilted surface by utilizing different techniques for the enjoyment and inspiration of viewers.

My quilts have been exhibited in the New England Quilt Museum (Lowell, MA), the Scheemer Museum (Scottsdale AZ), the Hill-Stead Museum (Farmington, CT), and the Russell Senate Building (Washington D.C.).

The permanent collections that include my quilts are the: Tucson Historical Society Museum, Gilbert Historical Society Museum, Agawam Fire House Museum, and Coolidge School District Collecton.

I am available for trunk shows, classes, museum exhibitions, longarm quilting, and commissions.
